Pine Ridge, South Dakota is home to the Oglala Lakota Nation. Through community, storytelling, and traditional ceremonies, families in Pine Ridge remain resilient since time immemorial. 

Hollywood has often decided to continue only showcasing Natives in a negative, stereotypical, one dimensional light - rather than uplifting Natives to tell their own stories on lived experiences, perspective, and voice. For decades, Lakota stories have been marginalized and stereotyped by Hollywood.

Our Outlast team is fortunate to learn from the youth from Pine Ridge and build interconnectedness between Black and Indigenous communities. We know their voice conveys powerful, original stories empowering community and culture. Every year, Outlast gets to witness the growth of the next generation of Native storytellers - we want you to witness it too.
